We invite everyone to come enjoy the oldest form of aviation, a ride in a hot air balloon with Hod Air Excursions and the “Just a Blast” team.
You will be able to see the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the beautiful St Johns River on the other. We will have wonderful, unique views of St Johns County, home of the oldest city in the U.S., St Augustine, Florida. On the western shores of the St Johns River, Green Cove Springs and Orange Park may be in our flight path. The Mandarin community of Jacksonville, just north of Julington Creek where southern Duval County meets St Johns County, may be one of our take off points. Many large old oak trees with Spanish moss line the eastern bank of the St Johns River. The largest city in the United States (over 800 square miles) Jacksonville will skirt some of our flying areas.
There are three things that make your adventure very memorable. Sharing a once in a lifetime experience with family, friends, or the one you love. Experiencing the great outdoors in all its splendor and glory. Floating through the air like a cloud, moving with the wind. There is no sense of motion because you are one with the wind. Your cares and worries fly away as you experience a magic carpet ride. You will ascend into the heavens, ride the wind currents, then float back down to earth.
The dual burners provide the heat to lift and control your descent. You may talk to people on the ground, when we are flying at tree top level or observe wildlife. Your friendly pilot will provide you with an exciting, memorable flight. At the conclusion of the flight, you are invited to participate in the traditional After Flight Celebration; learn the history of hot air ballooning, hear the Balloonist Prayer and drink a Champagne Toast. You will receive a colorful First Ride Certificate, suitable for framing, which becomes a great conversation starter wherever you display it.
